Job Description

An exciting opportunity has come about to join an extremely prestigious and well known 50-metre dual-season motor yacht as a Rotational Captain (2:2, paid for months on and off) where you will have the opportunity to oversee both private and charter operations.

The vessel is currently located in Dubai and has exciting plans to return to the Mediterranean over the next month where it will cruise extensively. Following the Mediterranean season, the yacht will head back to Dubai in October for their annual shipyard period. With a dedicated crew of 11/12 onboard, you’ll be part of a dynamic team committed to delivering exceptional experiences to the Owner and charter guests.

Responsibilities:

As the ideal candidate, you will bring a wealth of proven Captain experience, particularly on vessels of similar size or larger, and possess a hands-on approach to your work. You will be required to maintain the vessel to the highest standards of safety, guest satisfaction, and crew cohesion.

In addition, preference will be given to candidates with UAE cruising experience, as the yacht spends half of the year in the UAE and the other half in the Mediterranean, however this is not a deciding factor.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Navigation and seamanship: Demonstrating expertise in navigating various waters, employing effective passage planning, and ensuring the safe operation of the vessel at all times.

2. Leadership and crew management: Foster a positive work environment onboard, leading by example and effectively managing the crew to maintain harmony, efficiency, and high crew morale.

3. Guest services: Meeting guest expectations by ensuring impeccable charter service delivery, anticipating charter clients and Owner needs, and creating memorable experiences.

4. Safety and security: Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to guarantee the safety of all guests, crew, and the vessel itself. Remain up-to-date with the latest maritime regulations and best practices.

5. Maintenance and technical operations: Oversee maintenance, repairs, and the overall technical operations of the yacht, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, the following requirements must be met:

1. Master 3000/Master 500 ticket: Hold a valid Master 3000 or Master 500 qualification.

2. Proven experience: Have a successful track record as a Captain on vessels of similar size or larger, showcasing your ability to handle the complexities of yacht operations on a vessels of this size.

3. A hands-on approach: Exhibit a hands-on approach to your work, being actively involved in all aspects of yacht operations and leading by example.

4. Excellent verifiable references: Possess excellent verifiable references that highlight your leadership skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain a harmonious work environment.

5. Schengen Visa/European passport: This is a requirement for this role.
