We are currently recruiting for a talented and seasoned Chief Engineer to join a dual season, heavy charter 42m motor yacht. This is a permanent position with an ASAP start, offering 45 days leave per year to start. There are plans for this role to turn rotational with the current Chief Engineer onboard after two months for the right candidate. The yacht is currently located in Naples and has exciting plans to continue their charter schedule for the rest of the Summer season before crossing back over to the Caribbean.

As the Chief Engineer, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of the yacht’s engineering department. You will assume responsibility for planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and have confidence in managing the engine room of a yacht of this size.

We are looking for a candidate with prior proven experience as a Chief Engineer on vessels of similar size or larger. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the entire engine room. This role presents an opportunity to join a high profile, heavy charter yacht with the possibility of introducing a rotational package over the next two months if you prove yourself to be the right crew member for the job (TBC with the Captain at interview stage).

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer onboard yachts of similar size or larger.
  • Valid Schengen Visa/European Passport.
  • Valid Y3 engineering ticket as a minimum.
  • Excellent verifiable references and all relevant certificates in hand.
  • Start date: 26th of August.
